Nairobi City Excursions

NAIROBI CITY TOUR (2HRS)
This is a sightseeing tour of Nairobi, the green city in the sun. Viewing the shopping district, city market, Kenyatta conference centre- our landmark building, the parliament, snake park at the National museum, Macmillan library & drive to view point to get a panoramic view of the city.

NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK (4HRS)
Only 7km and few minute drives from city center of Nairobi, a variety of wildlife lies and roams freely in this unique park which covers an area of 44square miles whose chief attraction is the Africa lion.

Other big fives like Leopards, Buffalo, the elusive Black Rhino, the beautiful Zebras and the tall giraffes maybe found. The only member of big five not found here is the elephant.

KAREN BLIXEN (2HRS)
Originally the home of Karen Blixen, who came to Kenya from Denmark in the early part of this century, the present museum site is at the heart of the larger coffee plantation run by Blixen between 1914 and 1931.

The house was restored by the Danish government and was used during the filming of Out of Africa, which immortalized Karen Blixen book by the same name. The museum has beautifully landscaped gardens and an encompassing view Ngong Hills.

NAIROBI MUSEUM
The museum on Museum Hill Rd. off of Uhuru Highway offers hours of enjoyment to tourists in Nairobi. The museum is so big, with so many educating sections, that one could easily spend all day there. If you only have a few hours to spend, take a look at the guide in the entryway and decide which sections you want to tour first. Upstairs in the people section, are displays of the cultures of various tribes in Kenya. Also, the museum contains dinosaur fossils found in Kenya.

NAIROBI SNAKE PARK

The Nairobi snake park is not a snake park per se, in the actual sense it is  a reptile park as it displays the representatives from all the members of the reptile group. Put up thirty or so years ago, the park has been and still is a constant visitor attraction center. In fact a visit to the museum is never complete without making a visit to the snake park.

ELEPHANT OPHARNAGE/ GIRRAFFE CENTER (2HRS)

Dedicated to environment conservation and preservation of endangered wildlife, and home to endangered Rothschild giraffes, the center has over 100acres of undeveloped indigenous forest, the remnant of the natural forest that once surrounded Nairobi.

The forest has an impressive variety of bird species, which can be viewed throughout the year. Also visit to the animal orphanage, where sick and stray animals are kept before returning to the wild.

CARNIVORE/BOMAS OF KENYA (4HRS)
Carnivore has succulent stew and barbecue dishes of game meat. The Bomas a short drive from the city center is an amazing set up that offers you a first hand experience of the culture and lifestyle of many of Kenya’s tribal group. Enjoy the rich traditional dance, villages and variety of handcrafts on display.

DAY TRIP TO NAKURU (FULL DAY)
The small but unique national park is the home of flamingoes and other birds. It is normally called an “ornithological paradise”; it is also the home of the black and white rhino among other game such as Lion, buffaloes and the rare Rothschild giraffe is found in this parks.

The park is only 160kms situated North West of Nairobi within the Great Rift Valley; you get to Lake Naivasha & Lake Elementaita before arrival.
