Many sporting events take place in different parts of the country like The Maulidi Annual Festival in Lamu is famous for donkey and dhow races as well as traditional sword fight, the world famous Maralal Carmel Derby is held just outside Maralal town.

Marathons like the LEWA Marathon are also held in various parts of the country and are open to everyone. The Rhino charge, a 4WD rally through the wilderness and Kenya's Rugby Safari 7's are sports you would not want to miss.

Kenya is blessed with beautiful plains neatly manicured to host 40 golf courses spread across the country. Muthaiga Golf Club is the host of the Kenya Open, part of the European PGA Challenge Cup.

The raging rivers like those of the Sagana River attract both local and international tourists to take part in bungee jumping, white water rafting and kayaking. The Kenyan coast is famous for deep sea diving, snorkeling, scuba diving and surfing.
